Enjoy extensive sea views over Lamorna Cove from this quirky cottage, a unique getaway for couples or small families, plus a furry friend. Its traditional styling includes a spiral staircase, wood burner and walls crammed with works of art, complemented by a modern bathroom and a kitchen with all mod cons. Once the dynamite store for the local quarry, this detached Cornish cottage feels really cosy and has a historic feel, especially in its welcoming lounge. Here, exposed beams and a wood burner set in an old stone fireplace take you back in time, while next door in the kitchen you’ll have use of all the contemporary facilities you could need to help you prepare delicious meals. Dine either at the table that’s around the corner from the lounge, or in the conservatory, where you won’t be able to take your eyes off the ever-changing vista of waves and sky. On the first floor, accessed by a metal spiral staircase from the lounge, there’s a king-sized bedroom with doors to a decked balcony, and a small twin room, sharing a bathroom with a shower over the bath. When you come off the beach you can take advantage of the hot and cold outdoor shower, and there are terraced gardens with a series of decked areas where you can sit and admire the magnificent views. Lamorna Cove sits on the coast between the quaint village of Mousehole, 2.5 miles, and Porthcurno, 6.5 miles. The latter is home to a stunning beach, a fascinating museum of global communications and the amazing Minack clifftop theatre. If you want to stay close to home, there’s a café and a pub in Lamorna, beautiful walks along the coastal path, and the Merry Maidens ancient stone circle is less than 2 miles.
