Sitting in a pretty location, this delightful family and pet friendly cottage has many original features and makes a peaceful base for exploring Mid Wales and Snowdonia. Outside is a patio and lawn, and a gated paddock where Fido can run. The cottage is down a small driveway which is open to the main road. This cosy detached property is brimming with period charm with wooden beams and doors, and exposed brickwork. The sitting room features a large, inglenook fireplace, which houses a wood burner, as well as sofas to relax on and watch the Freeview TV or a DVD, and guests’ paintings of the cottage adorn the walls. There’s a small dining room for enjoying meals together and through the arch is the kitchen, with everything needed to cook up a storm. The shower room is also on the ground floor. Upstairs are the two comfy bedrooms, a double and a twin, also a separate WC The charming garden, with a patio and lawn, overlooks the stream and is next to a gated paddock you can use. The area is ideal for walking and fishing. The owner can arrange fishing on the Afon Banwy and there’s also coarse fishing nearby. The small town of Llanfair Caereinion (3.5 miles away) is home to a selection of small shops and pubs and is at one end of the Welshpool & Llanfair Caereinion Light Railway. The south eastern end of Snowdonia National Park is just an 11-mile drive and the whole area is excellent for walking. For a fun day out, head to Welshpool (12 miles) to visit Powysland Museum to learn about Montgomeryshire, and explore the medieval fortress of Powis Castle and its incredible gardens.
