"Drift Cottage was a perfect location down a quiet lane but close enough to all the amenities. Great coastal and country walks. The accommodation worked well for 7 people and I would highly recommend it to future holiday makers". - Sian Dorrington Refurbished throughout for 2025, and styled with the assistance of an influential interior designer. Escape to the country for a group holiday at this serene getaway on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. It’s located down a quiet lane at the edge of a common, creating a truly tranquil setting for you to savour. You’ll be half a mile from the pretty Georgian village of Walberswick and 2 miles from the iconic seaside town of Southwold, where you can stroll along the pier, admire colourful beach huts and enjoy a slap-up meal in one of many eateries. The inviting property, built in the 1920s and with a lovely south-facing garden, has space for up to eight guests over its four bedrooms – ideal for an extended family trip or holiday with cherished friends. Two dogs are also welcome to join in the fun. You’ll love the period atmosphere in this traditional property, which has an attractive brick facade, mullioned windows and flagstone flooring in the kitchen. Generous room sizes make it excellent for a larger group, who can relax in the cosy lounge with its multiple sofas and charming open fire. The sleek kitchen is all ready for keen chefs to get creative, with meals to be enjoyed in the airy dining area, which has French doors leading out to the garden. In warm weather, the outside space is a wonderful asset, featuring a patio with furniture for sunny lounging and plenty of space for children and pets to run freely and safely. You’ll find pubs, shops, galleries and a beach 0.5 miles away in Walberswick, as well as a sweet little harbour with a few bobbing boats. There are further options for shopping and eating in Southwold, accessed via the local ferry over the River Blyth. The river opens up plenty of excellent dog-walking opportunities as you explore the open-access heaths and marshlands of this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You’ll find plenty of quaint local villages to explore in the surrounding area, such as Reydon, 3 miles away.
