About This Property

Oc 8655 The Lodge is a 3 bedroom dog friendly property

Enjoy gorgeous views from the garden of this welcoming detached house, which has a cosy wood burner and characterful original features. An ideal destination for couples or families, plus two four-legged friends, it has footpaths from the front door and is close to Caernarfon, the beaches of the Llyn Peninsula and the Eryri - Snowdonia National Park.

The cottage faces south and features Welsh slate floors and beamed ceilings throughout the ground floor. In the lounge a wood burner set in a brick chimney adds to the warm atmosphere, while the kitchen/diner has a timelessly appealing farmhouse style, with a log-effect electric stove set in the original fireplace. The main bathroom and double bedroom are on a ground floor, the latter a lovely room with traditional furniture and a Welsh blanket. The twin and single bedrooms, both of which have lovely views, are on the first floor, alongside a smaller bathroom. At the back of the house, terraced, lawned gardens give access to 52 acres of the owners’ fields and farmland. Garden furniture on a patio allows for alfresco dining while taking in the rural scenery all around. There’s also a bench at the front of the house from which you can admire the views.

From the cottage, footpaths take you across fields to a historic church and the pebble beach at Foryd Bay. There is an award winning garden centre/gift shop with a fantastic cafe within walking distance. Cyclists will want to try the Lon Eifion traffic free route, 1 mile away, while for more outdoor adventures Eryri- the Snowdonia National Park is only 5 miles. The historic walled town of Caernarfon is just 2.5 miles, boasting an array of independent shops, great places to eat and a magnificent medieval castle. From the town you can also board a steam train and take the Welsh Highland Railway to Beddgelert, Porthmadog or Rhyd Ddu.
