This chic cottage 100 metres from the beach in Southwold is a peaceful retreat for a couple or a single traveller. The cottage is part of a larger property divided into two units (Rest Cottage and Queen Cottage). You’ll be excellently placed to discover the delights of this quintessential seaside resort, with the vibrant pier, working lighthouse and colourful beach huts all within half a mile. Spend satisfying days taking the dog on pretty River Blyth estuary (1 mile) on foot, followed by evenings relaxing in your peaceful abode, which is bursting with rustic charm. Lavishly decorated in a charming French style and with vintage-style furniture, this charming home makes you feel right at home. It is connected to another property via a door, but this is not accessible. The spacious living room has impressive exposed beams and a painted brick decorative fireplace, and sofas where you can kick back in the evenings. In the wood-panelled kitchen/diner, cook up yummy meals to be enjoyed at the sweet round dining table. When it’s time to retire for the night, you’ll find a classy double bedroom upstairs. Outside, a shared courtyard with table and chairs creates a tranquil spot for morning coffee before heading out for the day. You’ll be in a convenient location 150 metres from Southwold’s bustling high street, where you can while away a morning wandering around the independent shops before popping in for a refreshing coffee. Further afield, head toward the river and board the ferry over to Walberswick, a sweet coastal village famous for its nature walks and rich wildlife of deer, otters, seals and seabirds. The seaside resorts of Thorpeness (15.5 miles) and Aldeburgh (16.5 miles) are both well worth the trip, and since this entire area is part of the Suffolk Coast and Heath AONB, the scenery of coastal dunes, shingle beaches and scenic marshland is bound to impress.
