About This Property
Oc 5735 Fishermans Rest Aldeburgh is a 2 bedroom dog friendly property
This pretty cottage, close to the High Street and seafront, makes a perfect retreat for a group of friends looking for a relaxing seaside holiday with their canine companions in tow. It has bags of character and a fantastic south-west facing garden with lots of areas to sit and enjoy the sunshine.
The cottage combines charming period features, like the wooden floors and doors, with contemporary comforts and chic styling. Go inside to the welcoming sitting room and kick back on the comfy sofas with the TV on and the wood burner roaring, snuggle up with a book or play board games. Rustle up meals in the well-appointed kitchen, with bespoke handmade solid wood units, and enjoy your creations in the stunning dining area, or open the bi-fold doors and eat al fresco on the patio. The bathroom with a shower over the bath is on the ground floor and it’s upstairs to bed in the king or double bedroom, both have digital/Bluetooth radio to help you switch off. There’s lots of space in the enclosed garden for enjoying drinks and dinner or a good book and a doze with different seating areas, a BBQ, and storage space for your boots and bikes.
Walk to the beach (400 metres) to see the pretty pastel-coloured villas, watch the fishing boats come in and admire the 4-metre-high ‘Scallop’ sculpture. Explore The Red House on Golf Lane (1 mile), once the home of Benjamin Britten you can visit the studio where he used to compose and wander through the gardens. The world-famous Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts, set up by Britten, takes place every June and is centred around Snape Maltings (6 miles). Be sure to treat yourselves at the town’s boutiques, art galleries, independent book shop, and eateries during your stay.
