Book a stay at this impressive, converted Norfolk barn, located at Briston and nestled in scenic countryside. It’s in the sweet village of Briston, with a pub and shop within 500 metres and pretty landscapes all around. Also, in a great position for reaching the coast, sandy beaches and other beauty spots, the two-bedroom retreat, which sleeps up to four guests, comes with an enclosed, lawned garden so is wonderful for a family trip or holiday among friends. The Norfolk Coast designated Area of Outstanding Natural beauty starts 4 miles away, opening up opportunities for exploring coastal marshes and sea cliffs on foot or by bike. Make your way into this beautiful brick and flint barn to find welcoming accommodation that still presents an abundance of character. At the heart of the retreat is an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with exposed beams and brickwork, as well as a spiral staircase up to a mezzanine level. Relax in here in front of the flat screen TV or DVD player or unwind to music via the CD player, iPod dock or DAB radio. Wander over to the kitchen to whip up tasty dishes for your family or friends to enjoy. Find you have a range-style cooker, with gas hob and electric double oven, plus a microwave, in here. There is also a fridge/freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Set the table for everyone to sit down at or call everyone through to the adjoining conservatory to dine in there instead. Open the doors in here on to the garden on warm days. Also, at ground-floor level, are a double bedroom and family bathroom, with small bath, with seat, shower over the bath and WC. Climb the steep, winding, spiral staircase to reach the twin bedroom up on the mezzanine. Bask out in the Norfolk sunshine as often as possible. In the nearby area, spend a morning in Holt, a colourful Georgian town with quirky shops and cafes 4 miles away. From here, why not catch the steam train to the Victorian seaside resort of Sheringham (10 miles)? You’ll also be 8 miles from the sea at Salthouse, where you can join the scenic Norfolk Coast Path for picturesque adventures on foot. Other excellent coastal locations are Wells-next-the-Sea (13 miles) and Cromer (13.5 miles).
