Number One, Skelwith Fold is a dog friendly holiday cottage.

The holiday cottage at Number One Skelwith Fold Cottages is a perfect location for your dream getaway in the Lake District. It is situated in an unbeatable location on the outskirts of Ambleside and boasts magnificent views of the surrounding fells. The house is cosy and comfortable with ample space to socialise and spend quality family time together. This stunning holiday let is conveniently placed for exploring some of Cumbria’s best loved towns and villages, including Windermere and Hawkshead.

The cottage sleeps up to six people across two double bedrooms and a twin room. The master bedroom benefits from a fabulous en-suite, whilst the rest of the home is served by a modern family bathroom.

The house was originally built to house senior staff that worked in nearby Skelwith Fold Manor house. Despite undergoing a major renovation in recent years it has retained many period features, including solid beams, fireplaces and cosy nooks.

Our team have worked hard to modernise the holiday cottage, without loosing any of its traditional charm. We’ve put our own unique stamp on the cottage – mixing top quality furniture with classic pieces to create an inviting space to relax and unwind.

The kitchen has had a complete overhaul and benefits from state of the art appliances, so you can cook up a storm during your self-catering holiday. The bathrooms are finished to a high standard, with excellent lighting, high pressure showers and a full length bath.

The downstairs living area is bright and spacious, with plush seating and elegant soft furnishings. There are wood burners in the lounge and dining room to keep you cosy and warm during the chillier autumn and winter months.

The stylish conservatory is one of the stand out features of our popular holiday home. It overlooks the cottages private garden and boasts far-reaching views of the Lake District countryside in the distance. The large conservatory is the perfect place to sit back and soak up the scenery with a good book, or glass of wine in hand. It’s attached to a games room with table football and air hockey where younger members of the family can chill out and play.

Make the most of the beautiful outdoor space too. Outside there’s a generously sized cottage garden with pretty flowers and neatly manicured lawns. There’s a patio area with an outdoor table and chairs – perfect for dining alfresco during a summer break in The Lakes. This Cottage comes with a private hot tub for your relaxation and enjoyment after a long day out exploring the Lake District. Enjoy a glass of bubbly under the clear night sky!
Cottage Number One is available to book from 3 to 7 nights – making the perfect choice for a short break or extended getaway in The Lakes.

There is parking for 1 car at the cottage, with additional parking nearby.
The electric vehicle charging stations are located on the caravan park next to reception which is a 2 minute drive from the cottage.

Skelwith Fold also has glamping accommodation and a motorhome and touring caravan park. Please visit www.skelwith.com for more information.
